Plan to start annual fall Perch fishing in September. Have had good success at Madison but thinking of trying White Wood or Thompson. Which lake would you recommend and what is the best time? Is it still four weeks or so before they start hitting?

Whitewood has got some beauties most of what i caught last year were 12inch and up.
Thompson also has lots of big Perch most of what ive caught out there has been jumbos I probably averaged 13inches with alot of 12-14 inchers. Personaly ive not been able to break 12 perch on Whitewood in a day and thats on a good one, my average 2-6. Others did better but they get to go practice everyday and that makes a big difference in presentation and learning what works. With Thompson its difficult to find them but when you do its really good. Usually the perch start biting after it starts cooling down at night and is still warm by day you get 2-3 weeks of that and they will usually start being more active. So as to where dont yet know but mid September is usually about right. Good luck, Bo

I talked to a couple buddies that fish around Redfield area and they wouldn't say where, but said that the perch were hitting along with other panfish. So we could be getting close. I will keep working the info out of them.
