Has anyone had any luck with grouse yet this season?  Possibly looking to head north, is it worth the time to try to find them?

No grouse in this area in Eastern SD.  Gotta head west to find the numbers of 'em.  Good luck

Lease Info

Looking at hunting lease on property for deer/pheasant.  Mostly non-tillable and slough.  What is standard fee/acre I could expect to pay in E. So Dak.?  Any info would be helpful.

Thanx...SD

I'm looking forward to the pheasant opener! We hunt in the gann valley and highmore area every opener. We stay friday night and head back sat. night. Its fun to make a few stops on the way back. The Artesian bar is one of our favorites. Fun things go on there and can hardly wait.

Where is everyone else going?

We usually ditch pig it around Chamberlain.  Love those free preserve raised birds. ;D ;D  Can only remember a few times we haven't shot limits of birds on the opener.  We usually make a few stops on the way home too. ;) ;

We hunt with our friends and relatives.

Ditch pigging sounds like your pass shooting. Please don't talk bad of walking ditches for birds. They keep trying to take that right away from us.

The geese are in my freezer! We have been having great luck on the honks lately getting anywhere from 15 to 25 birds in a day on average. Still no banded ones though.
