Hmmmmm wonder why I didn't see that duck comin'??

A few of the guys that are regulars up at Thompson including myself have been wondering if anyone would be interested in a fishing league up there.  There are a few around the state that I have seen, just fish one nite a week or so from maybe 6-9.  Thought I would approach the board about it and see if anyone had any input.  Could do a couple of them possible if interested one open water and one hard.  Make if for more fun than money, that way we don't have to police everyone that is fishing.  I think it would be a lot of fun. How does that work?  I have no clue. Wink Amount of fish? Type? Size? Weight?

I fished the league on Sinai last year and had a blast!  It cost (I think) 100$ per team and you could have 1-4 people in the boat.  It went about 3months.  They paid -- big fish for the season--heavy weight each nite--top few weights for the season.  Walleyes only.  The pay-out isn't great but it is fun to get together, seems like we had about 15 teams.

Could make it anyway we want it really, but as Grizz said is what I had in mind.  Give top weight for the night and maybe big fish.  Make is so you can weigh up to 6 fish or so.  The one I heard about on Big Stone that really impressed me was $10 a time.  They take the top averages, so you could potentially only fish one nite and win the average.  Payout barely pays for gas I am sure, but at the end they gave out some Jackets and stuff.  Just depends on the interest.  I would love to see this take off, and at least make some great while having a great time.
