Finally get an evening off and here comes more rain as I type.  Was thinking about going out tonight, but might change those plans.  Did anyone get out this weekend?  Might get out a few nights this week.  Deer must be on the move alittle more.  Have seen quite a few dead lately along the road.
Here fishy...fishy...fishy

Thinking about making a weekend trip to NE south dakota to bow hunt my uncles land but want to hit it during the rut. Does anyone know about when the rut starts up there. Any info would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

First part of November should be close.  Should be in full swing by Veteran's Day.  Needs to get a little colder.  This 55 degree stuff isn't going to cut it.

I was archery hunting around the center of the state from Thursday through Saturday.  The bucks were still running together, and you could see them doing a little bit of fighting.  I also found four or five fresh scrapes.  The bucks are just starting to respond to the rattling, but they should be in a better pre-rut phase by next weekend... and the rut should start around the first weekend of November as mentioned above...

Good luck everyone, and please post some pictures if you get one...

The forecast calls for cooler daytime temps next week and down around freezing at night.  Should jumpstart the rut a bit.

a few more deer starting to come in lately, talking to my customers sounds like they are starting to chase the does.  I was out sunday morning and saw a lot of deer movement and 2 bucks grunting and chasing does.  It has begun, these next couple of weeks should be pretty great.  lets see some pictures of the deer and dont forget about the big buck contest

Hunt NE SD and hadn't seen any bucks until this past Monday.  Now I am seeing a couple every day and last night was the first time I saw one w/ a doe.  Safe to say that it is under way.  Good luck all.
