Bow Season
« on: August 19, 2007, 12:14:13 PM »
Anyone getting antsy to get out.  I have been out scouting alittle and knocking on doors again.  Been shooting out in the back yard once a night for just a few rounds.  Hoping to get out in the next week to start hanging some stands.  Here's my third round at forty last night.

Yeah some younger people with something to prove might make that claim.  But with the old trusty nikon 800 it was accurately ranged to 40 yards.  As an older mature adult, I have nothing to prove.  It was truly forty yards.

You must be confused ???  Never been banned, but have left a few sites due to lack of moderator control and childish antics from others.  I due tend to think I have a pretty good sense of humor.  At times I even crack myself up...lol :D :D

Yeah I need to have a few arrows re-fletched after that night.

Hey Gomer Pyle I finally got around to reading some of the PM's you sent this weekend.  Yes I do own a horse ranch in the southeast part of the state.  The local's refer to it as the Mustang Ranch, as we often service more than horses...lol.  I see you all ready left again...God speed my friend...In the name of the father, the son, and the "hollie ghost"...amen..lol.

Heh, I have a sense of humor too but I don't put up with any BS. From anyone!  Everyone plays nice or they don't get to play. Most know how far they can push but if I close a thread and don't allow any more posts to it, arguements over and if someone starts it again they will be gone.

My bat, my ball, my glove and my field. Play nice or you won't play at all. Simple enough.

Oh, and for the newbies, somedays it's easier to irritate me that it is on others so beware.

Got my bow tags sent off today and reapplied for left over swan tags.  I received my West river tags last week and can't wait.  We hunt Stanley county with some friends out by Hayes on a ranch.  We also hit some of the WIA out there.  Last year everyone filled their buck tags.  Nothing special, just some nice deer.  In the past we have hunted in boats along the Missouri River, but the weather plays a big role.  Years ago nobody hunted by boat, but it has become a little more common lately.

Stop by Archery Outfitters in SF.  They are really good about helping the newbie's out. ;D  They will help determine your draw length and have a good selection of bows in a wide price range.  I shoot a matthews switchback XT.  Nice smooth shooting bow.  I have a drop away rest and dusk devil sites.  I shoot with a Tru Fire release called the Judge.   I once was like you and didn't know where to start.  Those guys were really good about helping set things up and answer alot of questions.  Talk to Mark or Kim.
