just curious why the state would not do such a thing.  seems like common sense to me.

Lake Preston isnt much more than a duck hole at the time....(middle of a low precip cycle).  From what I understand you'd be lucky to find 3.5-4 fow at any point in the lake.  The majority of the fish population is likely rough fishes...including carp and bullheads.  The cost of an effort such as seining the entire lake would no doubt be quite high......especially considering the few game fish that likely inhabit the lake.

Actually Lake Preston is now without even rough fish as of about 2 months ago and its probably closer to 2 feet or less and it Summer killed.
