Went out Saturday 8/19 to prefish for some upcoming trips - Ran into a monster school of smallmouth bass. Caught 26 before calling it quits - other spots to check and my wrist started to ache - Ha Ha. Had several over 3 pounds and had a blast catching and releasing. They were in the shallows chasing the minnows around - caught them on a jig w/ medium size minnows. The smallmouth on Thompson typically go on the chew first for the fall bite then the perch. Also, caught some crappies, perch, and walleyes. Walleyes seem to be in a transition stage right now but can be caught. Attached is a picture of a couple of the smallmouth.
