I spent this last weekend up at Thompson. We stay at Jerry's and get alot of feedback from the guys there. We went out early Saturday to beat the heat and was limited out by 9:30 am. We were south of Jerry's by the 2-mile road on the flat. 8-9 FOW. The wanted shadraps trolled fast about 3.5 mph. Most everyone had pretty good sucess using similar tactics. We went back out at sunrise again on Sunday and could not get a single fish on a crank or a spinner. We then switched about 9:30 to Lindy rigs leeches and crawlers drifting in the same area with the wind. We started getting bit immediately and finished the day about 10:30 with 6 nice fish. It was time to head home.  All fish ranged 14-16. Nice eaters but nothing huge.

Thompsons been good on the east side by the silo also. 9-10 FOW. BB and spinner, leeches.
Limits coming in from Dry lake #2, east side of the submerged road. BB and spinner, leech or crawler.
Perch from Sanai SE bay. Craws or shrimp best.
Thanks TLA for our new board.

I'm thinking about retiring to the DeSmet area of SD. Do you know where I can get some up to date maps of the good fishing areas on Lake Thompson? I'm not familiar with the area and any help would be appreciated  Smiley

Fished Thompson on Sunday could not get a bite in the shallows turned to 12 ftw and caught a few on bb spinners, but was slow.  It was hot enough we decided to get out the tube and get wet, was fun until the waves about pushed us under by 4:00.

About the lake fishing maps I have a book I think it just says south dakota fishing maps on it.  You see them all over they are blue with a fisherman on the front and some contour lines around a lake.  We call it the bible, but we have put a lot of notes in ours.  The maps are a big help, but you have to consider with all the water loss that almost every lake has had no maps are really up to date.
