Lake Thompson
« on: August 09, 2010, 10:46:20 AM »
Just wanted to give a short fishing report.  Fished Thompson on Friday night in the boat in front of swimming area and did pretty good. Caught 10 in 3 hrs all around 14in. trolling plugs.

Saturday caught 5 in morning then nothing all afternoon.  That was along the east side.  Better size around 16in

East ramp is NOT OPEN!!!!  Wasted my time going there.  Thought somebody posted that it was open.  Even went around barricade but water was too shallow.

How deep are you trolling?

we trolled mostly in 10 to 12 foot pulling rapalas, black w/ silver seemed to work as well as crawdad.  I think when we found fish they would bite then 10 mins later they were gone.  Tried on Saturday anywhere from 8 to 14 but did best in 10 to 12.  Never took the time to use live bait.  Most would probably agree best bite was after 6pm and before 11am.

Had pretty good luck on Thompson this weekend.  Bottom bouncers and slip bobbers on the North end.  We came home with 12 on Friday and 11 on Sunday.   Sunday was between 10:30 and 2:00 so we didn't even hit the good time of the day.  Felt good to get out again.

Thanks for the tips guys...  I'll be out there floating and loving life Saturday!  It's been a while since I have fished Thompson, I'm pretty stoked.  Sinai and Cochrane have been way too much fun.
