What does being involved in a fishing club entail.  As have never been around 1.

With the pople who have been on this forum for years, we do have kinda a defacto fishing club. ;) Not quite like the fishing club being mentioned but still a club.

Fishing clubs can pretty much be whatever the members want them to be. Usually fishing clubs also do good deeds to help the outdoors, lakes and people. Some clubs get big enough that they can have some local and state wide political clout but that takes a while.

Not a bad idea tho if someone heads it up wh is enthuastic about what the club wants to accomplish.

The lake area walleye club out of madison is having a second year of league.   They fish every other wed.  I think the lakes are Brant, Thompson, Pointsett, Madison, Sinai, and Vermillion.  Their league is set up to be a qualifier for the 2011 Cabela's national team champioship.  It might be intersting to set something like this up out of Preston and then have a fish off on a neutral lake against them with a traveling trophy.  Some good natured competition while getting people out fishing.

the four lakes association that meets at northshore a few times a year is an option to join and talk about fishing and improving fishing in the area.  it is a pretty new club but they are doing water testing on area lakes now as one example of things they are doing.  they do spring clean up on shores of thompson, talk of gates to help keep water level stable, take a kid fishing day, tornado sirens at state park,  etc etc.
