Fall Turkey
« on: August 22, 2008, 04:58:12 PM »
Hey all, I was able to get tags for fall turkey, but I think I made the mistake of choosing the wrong hunting grounds. Can anyone tell me if there  is anything worth hunting in Brookings Co. east of I-29? I have seen a few birds but on private land. I have access to land that I saw birds on last year but have not seen there this one. This is my first turkey hunt so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm, while I've never hunted turkeys nor even tasted a wild turkey I noticed that I tended to see them in the same places every year. If you look on the two turkey pages I put on SD hunting you'll notice one of them has a link to an Iowa turkey hunting site. They may be able to answer the question about how much turkeys get around or if they are in the same places year after year.
