Will it be enough?

Just was curious, will there be enough ice through the weekend to maybe fish the bays or smaller bodies of water next week?

I hope so.  I am figuring to be on the ice on Sunday (depending on the wind).  With 4 days of sub-freezing temps for highs, I think the ice should be 2-3 inches in most spots not on the main lakes (but I am no expert).  If you want to go icefishing this weekend, do what I will be doing and bring a change of clothes, wear the lifejacket, have ice picks with easy accessibility, don't bring out the expensive gear, and tell someone where you are going to be at.

Good luck, and let me know how you did if you go out.

I'm with ya, if the wind doesn't screw it up it would be nice to hit one of the back bays on one of the local lakes on Sunday.  A friend told me that on the Sat. of opener day (deer) there was a guy about 30 yds out on Whitewood on a bucket.  It sounded like most of the lake was open with geese on it!!!  He drove by about 5 hours later and the guy was gone, and so was the ice.
Good luck and be safe.
