Where to go for Crappies on Thompson?
« on: December 26, 2006, 08:46:19 AM »
I am new to the area, where does one start his search for crappies on Thompson?  What size do they run?  Are they usually suspended?  Any info would help.

Start in the northeast bay and don't forget about the slough there either.  Should get you a good start.

Is that slough still connected to the lake?  I was fishing a ways away from that spot, but when I looked over there I couldn't see any water connecting the lake to the slough.  Isn't the slough just to the East of the state boat ramp?

It's still connected by about 12' of water.  However, I'm sure that the actual slough itself doesn't have more than a foot or two of water.  We need snow in April.

Farthest northeast side of the lake you can find.
