Thoughts and prayers
« on: January 18, 2012, 06:00:21 PM »
As we discuss where the fish are biting and various other topics, that interest those of us that love the outdoors.   A fellow icefisherman died Monday night on Lake Pointsett.  Easy to say things went wrong but please put the family and friends left behind in your thoughts and prayers.

Be safe, lots of open water still.  Or worse newly formed ice 2 inches thick.

Well said!  In times like this we tend to be at a loss for words.  Things happen and we don't know why.  He lived life in his own terms and was a good person who would do anything for anyone.  God Bless!

Be careful out there and be safe!

Appreciate your post-- a friend of mine from Canada drowned while checking his deer stands late last fall. He left behind a wife and 2 kids.

I can't tell you all the times that everyone examined the situation and asked what he could have done differently. But the fact of the matter is it happened, and there is nothing we can do to change that. What it has done for me however, is cause me to examine my own life to a greater degree and check my priorities-- which in turn has caused me to adjust how much time and effort I now put into building into my marriage and my family.

I will pray for this family for their loss-- but at the same-- it is another reminder to me of how important it is to continually check my priorities.
