I visited with a guy on the ice who had just caught and released a smallmouth within 6 ounces of the state record about 5 years ago on Thompson- so the state record must be there today.

sorry I didnt mean to sound defensive. i just didnt quite understand the question. anyway ive talked to shane (warden)and from what he told me there are tons of huge smally's in thompson and lots of them but rarely everfished and same goes for the big eyes on lake henryon the north side of thompson I have a cabin inbetween the lakes N i will tell you the avg. eyes on henry is about 2 and a half lbs. we hammer them all summer long just shore fishing with crappie rigs and mins its kind of a secret up there i would say the avg length is about 19 or 20 inchers and originally i was going to set up for4 the night bite on henry cause i hadnt heard of anyone fishing henry but one of my neighbors drove out to us on thompson and he knew of a couple of guys trying henry pretty hard with no luck so thats why i fished thompson otherwise i would of fished it and I know there there... so sorry again if i came off defensive didnt mean too..
