South end was decent yesterday. Biggest complaint was not able to land the perch. 2 guys 18 fish, should have
had 2 limits.
Good walleye bite, Schaffer's Slough. east side- 7feet.
Lot of pressure at east dock site.

It's north of Thompson--if your in the state park on the North side of Thompson you will see it to the north east when you hit the curve by the state park house that gets rented out.  If I recall there is a spot you can park between the curve and the boat landing.  You can also see it if your driving out to Northshore on the left hand side of the road (east side) before you get to the state park/Northshore--i'm pretty sure that is part of Schaefers to but i maybe wrong on that.

Schaffers slough starts when you go through the channel on the northeast side of Thompson just east of the boat ramp and it goes all the way to the highway to the east and up to the first gravel road that goes through north of thompson if your on the highway going to the state park.

if you had a choice for AM fishing on Saturday 12/24, where would you go?  Thompson NE side or to 81 ponds west pond.  Either one safer than the other?  Either one catching more fish?  Relatives have been catching perch on Bitter up to 13'' and a few walleyes till cold front yesterday afternoon, but too far to drive for only a morning fishing

I was out on yesterday (Wednesday) from 2 until dark.  I did manage to catch 2 walleye and a crappie.  I was getting a little frustrated with the perch though, as they would take the minnow, but I couldn't get them on top of the ice.  Ice was about 7-8 inches.
Remember, I'm pulling for ya.  We're all in this together.

There were a ton of people in Schaffers slough, west end, monday. Counted 27 shacks and 4 groups without shacks.

8 out from park ramp but spread out a little.

3 in front of vantage point and 2 guys with no shack way out.

South end was 3 shacks and a couple of groups.

Schaeffers been walleyes, mostly small, northerns and a few perch. If ya stay long enough you get a few keepers.

Fishing brother went out this afternoon and at 330 when I talked to him, he said he had caught 2 walleye, 1 perch and a northern on Schafers--said the ice was 7-8 inches where he was at.  Heading up tomorrow to see if we can find some fish, if not we'll go look for some birds b4 the season ends!
