Siani or Thompson?
« on: June 30, 2007, 02:02:32 PM »
Going to go fishing on my day off on Tuesday and was wondering which one was doing better for a little bit of an advantage.  Thanks

Did anyone get out to either of these two lakes this weekend and if so how did you do?
I think im leaning more towards Thompson.

YOU HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF CATCHING A FEW KEEPERS AT THOMPSON BUT IF YOU ARE JUST GOING TO CATCH FISH AND THROW THEM BACK THEN GO TO SINIA THERE ARE A TON OF DINKS IN THERE ALONG WITH A FEW NICE ONES

what has been the best presentation at siani to catch the dinks plugs, spinners, or drifting live bait.  and what area of the lake.  have only been on siani 3 times.  not to fond of taking the boat down gravel roads (why I dont fish siani much)

If you don't want to drive down gravel and want to catch keepers you definitely don't want to go to Sinai.  Go to Thompson or Kampeska.

If you want fish on sinai a few good places to try are trolling and drifting spinners by the house on the west side, along the south side, and across the bay on the northeast side. It seems most the fish I catch are usually in about 8 to 10 fow. On the northeast side if there is a pretty good drop off the fish like to hang on and there is another good shelf off the point just to the south of the house on the west side.

Just got back from thompson and it was slow but a very nice evening to be out, but bugs did get kind of bad after dark.  Fished from 7:00 pm to 12:30 am and caught 6 walleyes (4 keepers and 2 dinks) and 3 crappies using slip bobbers and leeches in 3.5 to 4 foot of water.  have never caught crappies off leeches.
