Ice was about 12''.  Seen a few people driving on the ice but i would not suggest it, no fish is worth it.  Lots of areas where the ice was milky white and also several ice heaves.

should be a storm system coming in this Thursday-Saturday to maybe help with the ice again?
Also This Monday another Fisherman fell through the ice in Madison County Iowa.

Byron has numerous open water spots. All of the old heaves are suspect plus some random open spots further out.  The wind yesterday made them easier to spot.  Where I fished on Sat night was about 10".  Not many fishing - but there are always new people showing up to give it a try -don't want  to see anyone get wet.

Without giving too much away, if you find deeper water (more then 13'), you'll find more of the larger perch (12").  Other places on the lake are holding perch also, just smaller ones (8-9").  The other problem has been trying to entice them to bite.  I haven't been out since Monday, but have been out a few time during the last couple of weeks, and those are the results I've come up with.

Good luck.

Got into a nice mess of perch in 10 foot of water on 81 monday. Few little ones but most were over 10 inches.
