I havn't been out this year yet. Just very causious about the WX effect on the ice this year.
Is there anywhere else that has good bite. and ICE thickness? Like Poinsett i'm interseted on going to?

I wouldn't be asking if I had any. If I had a bait shop I bet I would though, thats why I thought I would ask here. Should have known better I guess.

Speaking of reports, heard there was a tourney at Lake Cochrane last saturday, anyone hear how it went?  Took my kids to the "Kool Kids Classic" at Oakwood instead only one fish caught but the Statepark does a good job entertaning the kids.  Also wondering if anyone has been out on John by Lake Poinsett, heard some decent reports there this fall, but nothing after freeze up.  Hey 4 Buck keep ur tip up!

Was on Thompson last weekend.
Thurs-Fri South east side drove out with pickup and permie about 1/2 mile, ice was 14"
1 nice perch, lots of tiny Walleye.
Sat-Sun Drove on State Park ramp on northside and went west toward Northshore.
Ice was 16". No fish caught at all..
Not sure where the open water was a few weeks ago so I wouldn't advise going out too far anywhere with a pickup..
When we drove out, we stopped fairly often and drilled a hole to check ice thickness.
There were a lot of permies and portables on north side Sat afternoon but none were out too far.
