i still think everyone needs to chill out and drink a beer

Except gunner....he just might have a harder time reading and getting the point. ;) ;D

Yeah... whatever.

I wasn't flying off the handle I just took it that if a trophy fish is taken home it has to be tprserved in the freezer for mountng.  I know of a few guys that just like to eat fish so they will keep a trophy and just eat it any way since it is close to the end of it's life cycle and will not be a good producer anylonger.

i'm all for reproductions but they are alot more expensive.  Maybe Tyler can shed some lite on the differences in prices.

its all good. eat what you want just keep your panties straight when someone else has an opinion that differs from yours. nobody can stop you from eating big fish. if you enjoy them then eat them. do you think the extra money for a reproduction mount is worth it when you can put the fish back. i think so. i can make an extra 100 bucks to pay the extra money for the reproduction in a couple hours. it takes years to grow a trophy fish. its all about your personal feelings about conservation.

Put the trophy back and then it dies in a day later due to natural causes or cause of rough handeling.

Gunner, all I can say is the article tells you how to deal with both situations.

C & R is just one option to improve fishing. However it works. Any lake with slot limits or only one fish over so many inches are essentially catch and release lakes where all the fish not within the guidelines must be released.

NBD tho, whatever rules the GF&P or DNR make we will all live with. As long as it's legal it's okay with me. There's a place in MPLS I used to buy my boats. They had a limit of 6 walleyes hanging on the wall that was close to 70#s. Not sure if I got into a batch like that I'd throw them back. That's bragging rights to end all bragging rights. Don't know if there is anyplace where it would still be legal to keep 6 fish that big tho.

I guess if it's good enough for all the IN-Fishemen guys it's good enough for me. They are the ones who first brought C & R to my attention. Oh, and if you think it C & R or slot limits don't work you should check out the history of Mille Lacs. Before slot limits and after.

Come on gunner, you use to be a great contributor and respected on these forums. You like to talk about others stirring the pot.  ???

If your pouty attitude has something to do with sparky and isop, get over it, and move on. We all have.   ::)
