Bitter Lake
« on: February 01, 2012, 02:42:15 PM »
For anyone who is interested-- I was talking to my brother today and he said the walleyes are really snappin on Bitter lake right now.

He was fishing on the West side of the lake toward the middle in 22-24 ft of water-- in the evening. He caught 10 last night with 2 good sized ones back to back... one 26 inches and one 27 inches. They don't recommend eating them that size out of Bitter, but they are still awful fun to catch.

did he say anything about the ice? I was planning a trip up that way and just wondering if people are driving pickups out or if a guy should take the atv?

The report I got back from him was 20-24 inches of ice... I was told there were lots of trucks driving around.

I would still be very careful though.

He just said the West side out toward the middle... I think that's about as much as he's willing to share.  :)
