Was east of the island from about 6-9 last evening, in about 14fow.
Plenty of little walleyes, and a couple (barely) worth keeping.
There were another 8-10 folks out there scattered around, but I didn't get a chance to talk to any.

I've heard they've been gettting some northern mostly on the west side. The musky are getting decent size too, but still not legal keeping size. I guess there was someone who kept one of the muskies and wasn't aware (ignorant) of the 40" minimum. That's too bad people do that, when they trying to get another musky fishery going in this state.

No......I bet he just wishes he was a little older and wiser.
Or better yet i bet he wishes he could read a rule book and understand the laws, seeings how he is no stranger to this body of water.

Maybe he just thought that he caught a genetically deformed gator? And that he was doing societal good removing nature's mutation from the lake - that was caused by all the chemicals the farmers use. What are muskies doing in SD anyway - why not stock talapia??? They grow faster and are a whole lot better to eat.

From what i understand, when the fish was pulled up through the ice it was bleeding very bad and probably wouldnt have survived if let go. I have also heard that the guy "thought" that they only had to be 30 inches on 81 to keep. He knew however that they had to be 40 elsewhere. I guess he has a meeting with the game warden comming up sometime and that will ultimatly determine punishment for it.

I think he asked if the fish was a muskie on his first post... It looks like to me he made an honest mistake, and would not of posted pictures of the fish had he known he broke the law. Hope the CO takes it easy on him. jmo
