Berkley fishing strike vs Dr. Juice for Pike

Catching plenty of fish isn't to hard when you are using a spray on scent for the species of fish you are trying to catch. I've done it frequently with Dr. Juice Northern.

First we'll describe the walleye tests and then the northern tests. These tests were done with one of my fishing buddies, ny wife who was a total novice and my dad. My dad and I were considered the local experts on some of the southwest Minnesota lakes and people would actually send strangers to our house and they would ask us where the fish were biting and on what. A couple of the bait shops in the area would even call us to let us know when the fish turned on and were biting good.

Being better at catching fish than my wife or my buddy I would usually be the one using the scents first. After that they would try the scents and I would be scentless. Lol, my dad was an unwitting victim in the walleye and northern tests.

One again, same baits, same setups, just one of us used scent and the other didn't. No matter what we fished for I always caught more fish using scent than my wife or my buddy. Problem with that was I always caught more fish than my wife or my friend did when we weren't using scent.

For myself I never noticed any difference using walleye scents but when my wife or my friend used them the didn't get outfished by me as bad as when they didn't use them. So I'd have to say that the results were inconclusive but my wife and friend wouldn't fish with me without using scent because they did seem to help them a bit. Maybe one extra fish per trip but it's one more than they were catching before. For both Berkely Strike and Dr. Juice the walleye scents results were about the same.

The one exception to the walleye scents was in late fall within a week or two of freeze up when the water was very cold. Some of our fishing spots were very secret and others were used by a lot of people. When we used the walleye scents around other people we would expect to outfish them by around two fish per trip and we would always have the most bites when we were fishing in crowds. The conclusion here is the scents worked fairly well in very cold water for walleyes. Dr. Juice being slightly better than the Berkley Strike.

None of the above tests revealed any dramatic results that caused us to outfish people by a lot but enough so that we would use them religiously during the two weeks or so before the lakes froze over and a little bit after the first ice formed. Conclusion, walleye scents worked and they worked best in really cold open water but after the ice got thicker the walleye scent didn't seem to help much.

Oh, almost forgot to tell you but the Dr. Juice walleye worked much better for us then the Berkely strike did. Why, I don't know but it did.

Be sure you read the next page because the results on using scents on northerns were quite spectacular and I proved it time and time again. Lol, made my dad and my wife so mad at me they would hardly talk to me for a couple of days. Of course when you get outfished by 7 to 1 using a trick they didn't know I was using I'd have probably been mad too.
