What with the snow goose hunting starting fishing posts are getting further between. It always happens around this time of year, the snow geese move in, the ice starts to get thin and everything but snow goose hunting slows down.
It’s a little different this year as there is still lots of ice and people are still fishing. However, as usual, lots are tired of ice fishing and switch over to snow goose hunting until the ice goes off the lakes.
What with the geese being stalled out just south of South Dakota for what seemed like forever, it may be a quick fly through this year. Hunting will be excellent tho as there are tons of geese. I just kinda wonder if after being stalled they might not fly through a little quicker to make up for lost time.
Either way I’d love to be there hunting. When the geese are at full throttle you can get a limit before noon and then go fishing. Nothing like a fresh snow goose and walleye dinner to make a trip worthwhile.
