Trout fishing is a great hobby and many people love it for the challenge and also the relaxation that comes with the pastime.
You can go to many places to fish for trout, lakes, rivers, streams, creeks and ocean and each individual place will give you different types of trout.
Many anglers will just go and fish as a light pastime and take the scenery in at the same time others are more series angler and enjoy the challenge of catching the trout on the end of the line.
There are various trout, rainbow, brown, cutthroat and brook trout, just to name a few and each type of trout has its own unique way of being caught and also its own unique way of hiding too.
You will find some trout will be near the banks of the river, some will hide under logs and floating debris, some will be in shallow or deep water.
Your job if you want to catch these beautiful fish is to assess and workout where they are going to be, going off the weather and water conditions.
Once you have assessed that you will then need to decide what weight of line you will use. Is it going be light or heavy? If it’s heavy will the trout see it and stay away?
What lure should I use? Spinner? What are the trout biting today? These are all questions you need to assess to make sure you have a better chance of getting a catch and being able to rise to the challenge of catching the mighty trout!
If things are not going well have you a back up plan, do you know what to do next? You have choices, swap the weight of the line, and change the type of bait you are using.
Change the type of casting from back casting to roll casting depending on the size of the river. These are all questions that go through a trout anglers mind. The reason is because this is such a fantastic hobby; it is worth thinking about in this way.
