The warm weather is starting to signal and end to ice fishing. While people are still using 4 wheelers to get out on the ice the shore is starting to break up and you will soon need a plank to get out onto the ice.
This is a very dangerous time of the year for ice fishing so please be careful. Be sure you know the thickness of the ice as it can vary as much as a foot or more in places just a few yards apart.
The ice is getting honeycombed and weaker every day and soon it will be time to get the boats out and get onto open water. Lots of people are tired of winter and can’t wait for warm days to get out in their boats.
On another note the snow goose hunting is now going full swing and people seem to be having really good hunting again this year. Lake Preston, Whitewood and Thompson have been full of snow geese. If you’re into spring snow goose hunting now is the time to go.
