Lake Fishing
Some of the better fishing lakes are getting deeper. The rains and melted snow both contribute to the rise in the waters. Many people are wondering how much Lake Thompson is going to come up, if at all.
Whitewood is full but if water isn’t flowing under the bridge on county 11 into the slough that leads into Lake Thompson Whitewood being up doesn’t help Lake Thompson at all.
It also helps when Lake Henry fills up so that water can also run into Lake Thompson. If Whitewood and Henry aren’t both flowing into Thompson then it only comes up a little more than it rains. Not a whole lot of runoff into Lake Thompson until the other lakes are full.
It does seem it’s time to get the fishing boats out as the lakes are pretty much ice free. There shoud soon be reports on the fishing. As usual I expect the people wading at night to have the best luck.
River Fishing
Chamberlain, according to the forum, fishing is hot. Hearing about lots of limits of nice sized walleyes. I’m sure that fishing will remain great to exellent for a few weeks. I wonder if the northerns are hitting in the bays on the river? Almost time for northern pike fishing too.
Anyway, the fishing lakes are open and I’m looking forward to some really good fishing this spring.
